“In order to be successful in any business you need to have sound business ethics and enjoy what you are doing,” says owner and manager of this successful East London business, George Pennacchini.

Through his experience in the construction industry, Pennacchini was able to identify a gap in the market for a specialist ceiling and partitioning company, and the company has grown very successfully since it was established in February 2006 and now employs over 90 people.

“Business grew rapidly based on market demand, and we were very careful not to exceed sustainable growth in the market place,” says Pennacchini. “Our biggest challenge was the recruitment of suitable staff who shared our vision.”

George Pennacchini runs the company on strong ethics, with the goal of “being the biggest and the best in our field.” He is a qualified quantity surveyor and project manager and worked for top construction company, Murray and Roberts, for six years.

Pennacchini Projects targets the domestic, industrial and commercial sectors and the bulk of its work is done as a sub-contractor to the medium and large construction companies in major developments. “Success is all about having the right attitude, service and being willing to go the extra mile to complete a project on time,” says Pennacchini.

The Pennacchini Projects team strives to work together with its clients to reach a common goal. “We enjoy, and are proud of what we achieve on each project and we really look forward to each new challenge that lies ahead,” says Pennacchini. Some of their most recent contracts include the East London airport revamp, various stores at the Hemmingways Mall, the Equinox Mall in Jeffrey’s Bay and the convention centre on the East London Beachfront.

To ensure each job is done as quickly and efficiently as possible, Pennacchini constantly encourages his staff and trains them to “work smarter.”

“I teach them to reduce wastage, save time and use resources well so that both the business and the client benefit from the job,” says Pennacchini.
